چکیده
Tailoring thermal radiation using low-infrared-emissivity materials has drawn significant attention for diverse applications, such as passive radiative heating and camouflage. However, the previously reported have bottleneck of lacking independent control over visible optical properties. Here, a novel visibly transparent infrared reflective (VTIR) coating by exploiting nano-mesh patterning strategy with an oxide–metal–oxide tri-layer structure is reported. The VTIR shows simultaneously high transmittance in region (>80% at 550 nm) low emissivity mid-infrared (< 20% 7–14 µm). not only achieves effect 6.6 °C indoor conditions but also enables synergetic photothermal to keep human body warm freezing temperatures outdoor conditions, which 10–15 warmer than normal cotton Mylar film. Moreover, it demonstrates excellent camouflage various (34–250 °C) good compatibility on same object, making ideal both daytime nighttime cloaking. With its unique versatile spectral features, this design great potential make impact personal heat management counter-surveillance applications.

Minimax design of optically transparent and reflective coatings.
We consider the design problem of creating coatings that are either highly reflective or highly transparent. The goal is to create an optical element, consisting of planar dielectric layers, that reflects (or transmits) energy over a given range of wavelengths and angles of incidence. The approach that we take is to formulate the problem as a minimax optimization problem. We demonstrate that th...
متن کاملPatternable PEDOT nanofilms with grid electrodes for transparent electrochromic devices targeting thermal camouflage
This paper reports a new type of transmitting mode electrochromic device that uses the high-contrast electrochromism of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) and operates at long-wavelength infrared (8-12 μm) . To maximize the transmittance contrast and transmittance contrast ratio of the device for thermal camouflage, we control the thickness of the thin PEDOT layer from 25 nm to 400 nm and...
متن کاملThermal Spray Coatings
THERMAL SPRAY is a generic term for a group of processes in which metallic, ceramic, cermet, and some polymeric materials in the form of powder, wire, or rod are fed to a torch or gun with which they are heated to near or somewhat above their melting point. The resulting molten or nearly molten droplets of material are accelerated in a gas stream and projected against the surface to be coated (...
متن کاملDust coatings on basaltic rocks and implications for thermal infrared spectroscopy of Mars
[1] Thin coatings of atmospherically deposited dust can mask the spectral characteristics of underlying surfaces on Mars from the visible to thermal infrared wavelengths, making identification of substrate and coating mineralogy difficult from lander and orbiter spectrometer data. To study the spectral effects of dust coatings, we acquired thermal emission and hemispherical reflectance spectra ...
